Executive Coaching, Performance Psychology, and Sports Hypnosis for Leaders and Elite Performers

Unlock your potential with neuroscience-based coaching from an executive, entrepreneur, and national champion.

Why High Performers Seek Executive Coaching

Executives, entrepreneurs, and professional athletes are conditioned for action, achievement, and constant problem-solving. Years of operating in high-pressure environments wire the brain for “go mode”—driven by reward, focus, and rapid decision-making.

This wiring is essential for success, but it can become a barrier when:

  • Seeking life balance or emotional connection
  • Facing retirement or career transitions
  • Coping with situations you can’t control: relationships, medical crises, elderly parents, adult children issues

You cannot simply “turn off” these patterns with logic. They are deeply wired into your nervous system and reinforced by years of experience.

Executive & Athlete Coaching: Who I Help

For Executives & Entrepreneurs

  • Difficulty shifting out of “go mode” after work or in retirement
  • Loss of identity, purpose, or drive during transitions
  • Coping with situations you can’t control: relationships, medical crises, elderly parents, adult children issues
  • Relationship tension due to work-centric focus

For Professional Athletes & Performers

  • Injuries and neurological issues such as ADHD, traumatic brain injury (TBI), concussions, or pain
  • Post-competition adjustment and loss of adrenaline
  • Identity shifts after injury or retirement
  • Performance anxiety, fear of failure, or perfectionism
  • Rewiring for balance, recovery, and next-stage goals

Meet Dr. Roger LaVine: Your Coach & Clinical Partner

With over 30 years of executive leadership and entrepreneurship—including owning and operating a software company—and as a professional race car driver and SCCA national champion, I understand the mindset and transitions of elite performers.
This lived experience is combined with advanced clinical training in neuropsychology, brain rewiring, and performance coaching. My approach is direct, practical, and evidence-based—no psychobabble, no generic advice.

The Neuroscience of Motivation, Performance, and Change

Emotions are the fuel for movement and action.

  • Positive emotions—driven by dopamine—motivate us to approach and pursue achievement, connection, and fulfillment.
  • Negative emotions—mediated by adrenaline and stress hormones—motivate avoidance, protection, and responses to negative consequences.

Understanding how you are wired—what drives you, what holds you back, and how your brain processes reward and threat—lays the foundation for lasting change. When combined with new skills and strategies, you gain the ability to take your life, career, or performance to the next level.

Neuroplasticity rewards perseverance: The brain adapts and rewires itself through repeated practice, persistence, and intentional effort. Even deeply ingrained patterns can be changed, allowing you to achieve new goals, recover from setbacks, and find renewed purpose.

Executive & Performance Coaching FAQ

Can you help me with a career transition?

Yes. Dr. LaVine has transitioned through eight careers himself. Successful transitions require not only job skills, but also specific emotional and cognitive abilities to execute quickly and minimize disruptions in life. Sometimes, personality traits and identity issues can get in the way. Dr. LaVine offers both professional coaching and clinical approaches as needed to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

Is this therapy or coaching?

The advantage of having a licensed psychologist as your coach is that therapy is available to augment performance coaching when required. This pathway combines clinical neuroscience and performance coaching. It is practical, structured, and results-oriented—focused on rapid change, not endless sessions.

Do you work with high-profile or confidential clients?

Yes. All sessions are private, secure, and tailored for confidentiality and discretion. My clients have included NFL players, tennis professionals, hedge fund managers, yacht maintenance executives, software executives, construction executives, insurance executives, non-profit executives, and hospital executives.

How quickly can I expect results?
Most clients experience measurable improvement in balance, motivation, and emotional regulation within 4–8 sessions.

Can you help me with my golf game? (or any other sport for that matter.)

Professionals have long understood the importance of training from “the neck up.” Whenever performance slumps, there’s often a process of “getting into your head.” Everyone experiences slumps—how quickly you recover is something we can help with. Through sports hypnosis, we can also enhance performance through visualization, increase motivation, and help you develop an “ON SWITCH” for confidence that you can activate when you need it most.

Can you help me with an injury, TBI or other Medical Issue?

When the body and mind need to heal, pushing can be a problem!  Dr. LaVine has the experience and tools to get you through pain, retraining and back to peak performance much quicker.  He becomes a valuable member of the team
